About me

Chasing my fascination with aquatic systems and their fantastic residents, I work on the ecology and conservation of cetaceans and elasmobranchs. I am currently a PhD Scholar at the Centre for Ecological Sciences at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore.

July 2023

I spoke about estimating gear-wise fishery distribution using GPS and interview data.

Presented at the SCCS-Cambridge conference

I spoke about my work on using ocean current and remote sensing data to understand cetacean stranding and mortality patterns in Goa.

Awarded the Miriam Rothschild Travel Bursary by the SCCS

March 2023

This bursary enabled me to intern with Prof Per Berggren of the Marine Megafauna Lab at Newcastle University to develop my research ideas.

Awarded the Save Our Seas Foundation Small grant

January 2023

This grant will help me conduct research and conservation work on elasmobranchs in Malvan and Visakhapatnam, as a part of my PhD research.

Attended a course on Open Science in Ecology in Norway

November 2022

This course was organised by The University of Bergen with GBIF Norway. I was also awarded the CLP Alumni Travel grant to attend this course.

Awarded the Prime Minister's Research Fellowship
